Axes are average speed weapons that deal chop damage and provide a 25% bonus against Wood. They are good for harvesting trees and suit an aggressive playstyle, with the ability Frenzy allowing for strong burst windows, and X-Strike being able to stun enemies beforehand.

All axes share these same attributes:

  • +25% Physical Damage to Wood
  • 2.03s Attack Speed (per combo)
  • 45% / 45% / 55% combo
  • 71.43% DPS

Moveset

Frenzy

Frenzy Icon

Description

Dash forward and strike the first enemy dealing 100% physical damage. Enter a state of frenzy that increases your movement speed by 25% and increases attack speed by 30% for 0.8s on a successful hit.

Usage

Frenzy is an excellent engagement tool that rewards commitment and timing. It's a great follow-up tool after using X-Strike as the enemy will be incapacitated and weekend, but because of the distance required to get the stun from X-Strike oftentimes a dash is required to get in range leading the player without an easy getaway option.

Combining the use of Frenzy with Abilities such as Power Surge or Blood Rage can minimize potential damage and increase damage even further.

X-Strike

X-Strike Icon

Description

Throw two axes in the shape of an X. Each hit deals 85% physical damage and slows the enemy for 1.5s. Hitting an enemy where both axes intersect inflicts a 2s incapacitate.

Usage

X-Strike acts as a great engagement tool that requires a set distance in order to get its stun off. While the axes in general are great at dealing with packs of normal enemies the disadvantage lies in that bosses aren't affected by the stun. Being the only range option for the axes and considering later bosses encourage keeping your distance the ability falls off but does decent damage regardless.

Using ice abilities in tandom with X-Strike and allow for big AoE combos on ususpecting enemies
