Sword
Swords are faster swinging weapons dealing slash damage and providing a 25% bonus against vegetation. They are all-around good weapons for most encounters, with the ability Whirlwind having decent AoE potential, and Shockwave providing periods of invulnerability.
The sword's second ability Whirlwind is available for copper and better swords, with the third ability Shockwave available for Iron and better.
All swords share these same attributes:
- +25% Physical Damage to Vegetation
- 1.39s Attack Speed (per combo)
- 35% / 35% / 40% combo
- 79.14% DPS

Usage
Whirlwind gives the sword decent AoE potential while still remaining mobile. It's best used on clusters of enemies and can be used after Shockwave's recast as enemies will often bunch up below the player while they're in the air.
It can be useful to save your transportation skill as an escape option as if the group of enemies are not dead afterwards you'll often be standing in the middle of a pack with no cooldowns. Moves like Crimson Aegis or Power Surge can also be used before or after to minimize potential damage.
Shockwave
Usage
Shockwave is exceptionally useful for providing invincibility time to the player upon being recast. If the player hits with the initial projectile they have a window of opportunity to trigger the recast at which point they become invulnerable to damage for the duration of the move. This is very helpful on bosses as players can use the ability like a pseudo dash in order to avoid attacks when other methods of avoidance are on cooldown. Only smaller targets will be flung into the air but the player is provided invulnerability regardless of if the target is affected by the lift. The grounded variation actually provides a faster recovery time, making it more useful on bosses that can't be lifted.
An important quirk to take into consideration however is that while enemies can't attack you while you're in the air, they will start their attacks below you as though you were, often causing them to hit you on the way down. Using a shield ability right before recasting can prevent this sort of damage.
